Be Grateful

I just want to take this time to wish all our wonderful girls, and parents a Happy Thanksgiving,
and take the time to let you all know how overwhelmingly grateful I am to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, to know the truth of the restored gospel, to live in a beautiful, peaceful, and abundant valley, to live within the boundaries of the most loving, supportive, and wonderful ward in the world (Afton 2nd), and to be called of God to serve our wonderful inspiring
Young Women!

You girls are such amazing, vibrant, sweet, loving, serving, compassionate, wise, and spiritually strong ladies!!

I am humbled to be near you and around you as you love each other, play with each other, teach each other by leading and example, and reach out to one another. You're strength and testimonies of the gospel help me to become stronger as well! I love each and every one of you and am so grateful to be part of your lives!

These words go likewise to the amazing ladies I serve with and the mothers of these wonderful girls.
What amazing examples you are to me!

Thank you all for being uniquely you, for sharing your testimonies and strengths and for forgiving my weaknesses.
I look forward to serving you all for as long as I can.

Here is a quote from Elder Bednar from last conference.

Let us be Rich in Contentment and remember to count our blessings everyday, for they are MANY!

Love,
Sister Koeven

Word of Wisdom

While I was studying my leadership training for work on Core Values this afternoon, I came across this little fact from the Samurai that I thought tied in great with
today's lesson on the Word of Wisdom.

Think about what Sister Ealey said about how our bodies are just the rubber-maid box around our spirits. Our spirits are who we really are and in order for us to achieve the goals of our spirits, we need our body's to work for us to accomplish them.

The Samurai teach: When your body is strong it will bend to your commands; when your body is weak you must give into its demands.

Think about how that relates to the Word of Wisdom.

Have a great week, Ladies!
We love you!
